USS St. Louis was a light cruiser of the United States Navy that served during World War II. She was commissioned in 1939 and was involved in various operations in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of the war, including the Battle of Cape Esperance and the Guadalcanal Campaign. She also served as the flagship of Admiral William Halsey during the Battle of Leyte Gulf.

In 1945, USS St. Louis was decommissioned and later sold for scrap in 1951. She was the fifth ship to be named after the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Throughout her service, USS St. Louis was known for her speed and agility, and was often used in reconnaissance missions and as a screening vessel for larger battleships.
